I love the smell of a crackling fire in the evening. But if I lived at your house, I would have to wait until January, wouldn’t I?

What a beautiful sight! We just stacked the last of 3 cords of juniper from eastern oregon and just the smell of the dry wood is unbelievable. Enough of summer! We’re ready to put up the extra storm windows and start with the apple cider and pumpkin pies. Yay. fall!

A serious question I’d like to see addressed this year:

What are the principles that guide the Cold House? What are your goals?

For example, do you want to minimize heating in general, or the use of fossil fuels or something else?

Consider this a very open-ended question.
