First frost this morning. 27º outside right now. We still have yet to make fire, turn on a space heater, or even excavate the electric blanket from wherever we stored it in March– though yesterday we did both resume the strategy of sitting on the heating pad (80W on high, ?40W on low) while doing desk work, which really makes a huge comfort difference.
There’s no snow down here at 20 feet above sea level, but it’s close by. Here’s a webcam image from this morning of the Presidential range in New Hampshire, 65 miles (by the crow) from here, and visible from the western edge of town on a clear day.Makes you want to dig out your mountaineering boots and crampons, doesn’t it? (P.S. If you are wondering, I believe the grey smudge just right of center is an ice crystal stuck on the window– unless the town of Gorham exploded overnight.)
